I started my working life in public relations, as a Press Officer for a Cancer Research Charity, where I spent five years telling stories that mattered and helping people understand complex information clearly.

Somewhere along the way, I became genuinely interested in the computers and software I was using day to day — enough that I made the leap into a full career in IT. I spent years working in technology, the majority of it at GSK (GlaxoSmithKline), one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies.

What I discovered early on, across every one of those roles, is that I have a genuine aptitude for teaching people one-to-one. I could take something that felt complicated or intimidating and explain it in a way that simply made sense. That skill — patience, clarity, and the ability to meet people exactly where they are — has been the constant thread through everything I’ve done since.

After I had my son, I took time out from full-time work and started doing freelance work instead — partly for a better work/life balance, and partly because I wanted to use everything I’d learned to help people more directly. That decision opened the door to working with small business owners, authors, and individuals who needed exactly what I’d spent my career getting good at: someone to make technology and online tools feel simple, not scary.
